- Injection Molding
Injection molding technology is one of the main methods of industrial processing. It is a powerful molding method that can mold plastic products of various shapes and sizes. The principle of injection molding is very simple. The plastic material is heated until it becomes a viscous melt. It is then squeezed into a closed mold that defines the shape of the product to be produced. There, the material is cooled until it is restored to a solid, then the mold is opened and the finished part is taken out. At present, injection molding has been applied in many fields. For example, automotive parts, including body panels, dashboards, load floors, engine parts, seat backs and internal parts are manufactured by injection molding.
At Alfa Chemistry, we are proud to offer comprehensive injection molding services to meet the various needs of our customers. Our machining centers are equipped with state-of-the-art injection molding machines and a variety of tools. Whether you need precision parts or complex components, we have the ability to turn your ideas into actual products.
There are multiple sub-processes for injection molding, adding even more capabilities to this already versatile technology. Our injection molding capabilities include, but are not limited to the following.
Overmolding
Overmolding is a multi-step injection molding process in which two or more components are molded on top of each other. The main purpose of overmolding is to enhance the functionality, aesthetics, and durability of a product by incorporating different materials in specific areas of the component.
Insert molding
Insert molding is an injection molding process used to encapsulate a component in a plastic part. First, a pre-fabricated insert or component is placed into a mold cavity before the injection molding process begins. The molten material is then injected around or over the insert, effectively integrating the insert with the surrounding plastic material to create a single, cohesive part.
Multi-shot injection molding
Multi-shot injection molding, also known as two-shot or dual-shot injection molding, is a process used to manufacture multi-layer, multi-color or multi-material parts in a single process. It is commonly used to manufacture products for industries such as consumer goods, automotive, medical and electronics.
