Background
Steroids are important organic compounds based on the fundamental saturated tetracyclic hydrocarbon: 1,2-cyclopentanoperhydrophenanthrene (gonane or sterane). These four cycloalkane rings consist of 17 carbon atoms that are bound together, which include three cyclohexane rings and one cyclopentane ring. When varying the functional groups attached to the basic steroid rings or changing the number of double bonds in the carbon rings, we can get a lot different steroids.
Alfa Chemistry has an advantage over other suppliers offering series of steroidal compounds, which encompass compounds of vital importance to life and have great variations in structure. Alfa Chemistry can provide two categories, natural steroids and anabolic steroids.

Source
Steroidal compounds are solid alcohols that shoulder very important biological functions in the cells, which are widely distributed in plants, animals and fungi.
The types of nature organic compounds found in plants are termed plant steroids. They exist and play important roles in the whole biological processes of plants, including growth, development and cell division etc. Some plant steroids are also can be used for human beings to decreases the amount of cholesterol in the bloodstream, such as phytosterols.

Most animal steroids originate vertebrate and insect. For instances, the former includes the steroid hormones and cholesterol, a structural component of cell membranes, which are principal constituent of plaque and help determine the fluidity of cell membranes. The latter includes ecdysteroids such as ecdysterone, which can control molting in some species.
Function
In a word, steroids have widely application in our lives. For example:
Brassinolide is important to promoting the plant's growth and the development of plant cells. Bile acids are essential for lipid digestion and absorption. Sterols are precursors of hormonal steroids and bile acids. Also they are important constituents of cell membranes, essential for their stability, cell growth, and proliferation. Some steroidal compounds are also used as an important source of raw materials to be responsible for the production of steroids of the androstane, pregnane and estrane series.
