Description
Sodium aluminosilicate is a fine white powder. Many ordinary rocks (feldspars) are aluminosilicates. Aluminosilicates with more open three-dimensional structures than the feldspars are called zeolites. The openings in zeolites appear as polyhedral cavities connected by tunnels. Zeolites act as catalysts by absorbing small molecules in their interior cavities and holding them in proximity so that reaction among them occurs sooner.;DryPowder; DryPowder, OtherSolid; OtherSolid; PelletsLargeCrystals

Application
The molecular sieve is a versatile white powder used primarily for drying and separating applications. It functions as a general-purpose drying agent across a variety of environments, effectively dehydrating both polar and nonpolar media. Its unique structure features porous crystalline substances, such as aluminosilicates, which maintain their crystal integrity even when dehydrated. This allows for the adsorption of smaller molecules, offering a high surface area for efficient moisture removal. In particular, molecular sieve 3A is adept at dehydrating unsaturated hydrocarbons, including petroleum cracked gas and butadiene, as well as polar liquids like methanol and ethanol. It is also commonly used to dry refrigerants and deeply dry kerosene and aero-engine fuels. Its utility extends beyond moisture management as it can be deployed in the separation and purification of fluids, serve as a catalyst or catalyst support, act as a cation exchange medium, and function as the stationary phase in molecular-sieve chromatography. Additionally, it can encapsulate chemical substances, releasing them either through heating or by displacement with a more strongly adsorbed substance. These properties make it invaluable in industries such as petrochemicals and vacuum glass manufacturing.
