Diazotization-Coupling Dyeing Process of Silk Fabrics with Acid Brown 4

Acid brown 4 is a representative aromatic primary amine dye that can be used for coupling dyeing of silk fabrics after diazotization. In the process of dyeing silk fabrics with acid brown 4, the formation of azo bonds expands the π conjugated system of the dye color body and reduces the energy level band gap between the highest occupied orbital and the lowest unoccupied orbital (HOMO-LOMO) of the dye molecule.
Dyeing method by acid brown 4
· First, the acid brown 4 dye and silk fabric were heated in the same bath at 80°C for 30 minutes in a Yuanming powder aqueous solution with a pH value of 5 and a mass concentration of 8g/L.
· Then the temperature was lowered to 0°C and the diazotization reaction was carried out for 10 minutes.
· Finally, sodium carbonate solution was used to adjust the pH value to 8~9 and the reaction was carried out for 30 minutes.
· The color fastness to soaping and rubbing of silk fabrics dyed with acid brown 4 can reach level 4 or above.
