Specification
Acid red 336 (AR336) belongs to the class of azo dyes, which are characterized by a nitrogen-nitrogen double bond (azo group) within their chemical structure. It is a synthetic dye used in various industries such as textiles, cosmetics, and food applications. However, AR336 is also a common component of colored wastewater and needs to be removed. A hydromagnetic stromatolite (HS) has been developed for the removal of AR336 from wastewater via an ultrasound-assisted adsorption method.
Ultrasound-assisted adsorption process of acid red 336
· Ultrasonic assisted adsorption experiments were carried out in ultrasonic bath (20 kHz) at constant temperature with the initial dye concentration (0.05-0.10 g/L), adsorbent dose (0.1-0.5 g), and pH (2-10).
· 0.1 g of adsorbent was added to 50 ml of dye solution and sonicated 20 kHz in ultrasonic bath at constant temperature. All measurements were done in triplicate and the average value of absorbance was reported.
