In this work, a series of reversible thermochromic nanofibrous membrane phase change materials (RT-NFMPCMs) were prepared. The core of the RT-NFMPCMs is composed of green dye 3,3-Bis(4-diethylamino-2-ethoxyphenyl)-4-azaphthalide (GN-2, as a thermochromic agent), bisphenol AF (as a color developer) and n-butyl stearate (as a cosolvent).
The experimental findings confirm the successful preparation of a nanofiber membrane characterized by a smooth surface and a distinct core-shell structure. As the core ratio of the RT-NFMPCMs increases, the enthalpy also rises within a specific range.
Additionally, the nanofibrous membrane demonstrates a significant encapsulation effect, achieving an energy storage efficiency of 73.8%. A noticeable color change occurs in the prepared RT-NFMPCMs when the encapsulated n-butyl stearate undergoes melting or crystallization, which highlights the excellent thermochromic properties of the RT-NFMPCMs.
Moreover, these materials show remarkable stability, as the latent heat remains largely unchanged even after 100 cycles of heating and cooling. The RT-NFMPCMs developed in this research provide valuable insights for the development of intelligent thermoregulatory textiles and similar areas in thermal regulation.
